The primary concerns when sending semen samples for testing are the protection of the straws from breaking in transit and the arrival of the samples in a timely fashion.

Please follow these steps when sending semen samples for testing:

1.  Use one straw of thawed semen for each animal to be tested.  Fold a piece of cardboard lengthwise and tape it closed around each straw.

2.  Label the cardboard with the complete name of the animal, its tattoo or identification number, and your name.

3.  Send your samples by priority mail using a cardboard envelope obtained from the postal service.  Be sure to enclose your completed application and check (payable to ADCA)  Remember that your samples will not be processed unless you have signed the application in both places and enclosed your check.
